Steve Bishop was born and raised in the West Midlands, and joined the army in 1974 aged 17. Served in Northern Ireland during the troubles, Germany and the United States.
Since leaving the Army, Steve has worked in South America for a major financial institution, and here in the UK for the TV and the music industry, with extensive experience of working in volatile environments in Europe.
He left the security industry in 2001 to study psychology and trained as a therapist in 2004 Since qualifying, he has worked with former service personnel who experience difficulties adjusting from military life, and combat associated trauma into civilian life.
Eight Days Later is his debut novel satisfying a long-held desire to write.
He calls upon his own military experience, and working life, blending it with some of the characters and personalities he encountered during the five years spent living on his own narrow boat on London’s Grand Union Canal.
